Start of our tour. Drive north of Chiang Mai towards Chiang Dao. First visit the elephant camp where you will see the elephants take their morning bath and demonstrate some of their skills. Then to Chiang Dao Caves and after lunch in a village we drive to Tha Ton where we will go to see a big Buddha statue on top of a mountain. We continue to Doi Mae Salong, a Chinese village on top of a mountain. When Chairman Mao founded the Peoples Republic of China in 1949 the Kuomintang led by Chiang Kai Shek had to escape. more
