Day 1
Arrival in Bangkok and transfer from the airport to your hotel
Day 2 (B)
Discover why Bangkok is also known as “the Venice of the East”. During this tour you have the chance to see Bangkok from a totally different point of view and get a closer insight in the lives of the Thai people that live on the banks of the canals.
For this trip different boats are used: The Chao Praya Express, Thai longtail boats and very small “James Bond” boats which are used to explore even the smallest klongs. Depending on the route that is chosen by your guide, you will visit one of the many local temples, a small market or a school
Day 3 (B) Discover Bangkok on your own, for information you can go to our own tour counter in the hotel.
Day 4 (B, L, D)
Between 06.00 and 06.30 AM you will be picked up at the lobby of your hotel and we depart to Kanchanaburi. At 09.00 AM we arrive at the War Museum, we visit one of the many war cemeteries and the impressive bridge over the river Kwai. At about 12.00 we make a historical and scenic boat trip over the River Kwai, on the way you pass unspoiled mountainous jungle scenery to get to your accommodation, the Jungle Rafts where your lunch will be served. These floating bungalows are build on bamboo rafts and at night lightened by oil lamps. In the afternoon you can make an exciting boat ride downstream and continue to visit the Hell Fire Pass memorial. AT 7.00 Pm your dinner will be served, after that there will be a presentation of Mon dancing.
Day 5 (B,L,D) After breakfast you will visit the nearby Mon village. It is possible to ride on an elephant over here (not included). This is the place where the movie “The Deerhunter” with Robert de Niro has been filmed. At lunch time back to the rafts where a Thai/Burmese lunch will be served. Afternoon free at leisure, enjoy your hammock or swim in the river. Dinner and overnight at the Jungle Rafts.
Day 6 (B,L)
Late morning you will go to Nam Tok train station and you will board the train over the Burma Railway, slowly moving along the wooden tracks. Then back to Bangkok by air conditioned minivan where you will arrive around 6.00 PM
Day 7 (B)
We drive to the Khao Yai National Park, the biggest in Thailand with a lot of wildlife, a.o. tigers and elephants. We do a nature walk in the real jungle and visit the water fall where the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo di Caprio has been filmed. We spend the night in a lodge at the park.
Day 8 (B)
We drive to the heart of the north east, a seldom visited but very interesting area. Here it looks if time stood still. In the small towns of Dan Kwian and Pak Tong Chai we visit a few factories where people still use their skills to make handmade products. In Phimai we visit the beatitiful Khmer ruins that were built in the same style as Angkor Wat in Cambodia, this area once belonged to the same country.. We will have a traditional lunch at a 500 year old holy tree which is as big as a whole forest. Overnight in Khon Kaen
Day 9 (B)
In the morning we visit a historical park with many strangely shaped rocks formed by the Mekong river. A few of these rocks were used as temples and one can still see 4000 old paintings on the walls. After that a stunning route along the Mekong river to Chiang Khan where we sleep in a teakwood guesthouse right at the banks of the Mekong river. Simple but very colorful accomodation with shared bathroom. There is a possibility to do a boat trip on the Mekong river or attend a dinner with traditional dance and music from the north east.
Day 10 (B)
At sunrise you can see how every family in Chiang Khan offers food to the monks. After breakfast we drive to a big lake where we take a raft and go to the middle of the lake where we will be able to swim and relax. Lunch is served on the raft. On the way to Phitsanulok we will pass the vineyard Chateau de Loei and a few national parks, one of the most beautiful roads in Thailand.
Day 11 (B)
We drive to the old capital Sukothai where we will rent bicycles and see the old ruins and lotus ponds. On the way back we will visit in Phitsanulok the famous Wat Mahathat and a Buddha casting factory. After that to Chiang Mai where we arrive late afternoon.
Day 12 (B) Free at leisure, you could for example visit the hilltop temple of Doi Suthep or explore the old inner city.
Day 13 (B,L,D)
Departure from the hotel by Pick Up truck, drive half an hour north of Chiang Mai to visit a local market. We continue for another 1.5 hour to a Shan village where we have lunch. After that we walk for about half an hour to a Hmong village. This tribe used to fight side by side with the Americans during the Vietnam war. From here through the beautiful jungle in about 2.5 hours to the Karen village where we will spend the night.
Day 14 (B,L)
After breakfast we will walk for about 1 hour to reach the elephant camp where we will ride these majestic animals for about 1.5 hours. From here it is another 1.5 hour walk to the water fall where your guide will prepare lunch. After that we follow the river for about 1.5 hours to the place where our truck is waiting. We continue by truck to the rafting camp where we will do bamboo rafting for about 1 hour. Then back to Chiang Mai where we will arrive late afternoon.
Day 15 (B)
Free at leisure. You could for example do a cycling tour or learn how to cook Thai food. Late afternoon your aircon sleeper bus leaves for Hua Hin
Day 16
In the morning you will arrive in Hua Hin where you can take a local taxi to the hotel.
Day 17 (B)
Enjoy your beach stay.
Day 18 (B)
You will have a full day more on the beach, late evening we take the overnight sleeper train to Surathani.
Day 19 (L, D)
Transfer from Phuket by aircon coach or from Suratthani train station by private songthaew. The journey to Tree Tops is around two hours. You will be met off the Phuket bus by Tree Tops staff who will drive you to Tree Tops. On your arrival, check-in, and after some refreshments you will be taken to your tree house which is equipped with mosquito net, double bed, cold water shower & toilet (an extra single bed is available in triple rooms).
Depending on the time of your arrival, you can then either relax the short time until lunch or walk in the grounds taking in the spectacular scenery and visiting a small local cave. After lunch, tubing down the Klong Sok in inner-tubes observing dramatic mountain cliffs and wildlife along the way. Visit a viewpoint and small waterfall on the way back. Dinner and overnight in your jungle tree top shelter.
Day 20 (B,L,D)
Breakfast, then transfer to the Raja Phraba lake for your boat trip to the raft houses – approximately 2 hours travelling in total. Check in to your raft house. Most bungalows are one roomed and are equipped with a mosquito net and double mattress (an extra single mattress is provided in triple rooms). There is one 3 bedroom bungalow and if requested any of these three rooms can be made into a twin bedded room with 2 single beds and mosquito net. The toilet facilities are a short distance away for environmental reasons! Relax, swim or tube on the lake, before lunch. After lunch, a short boat trip to a local fishing village followed by a visit to a bat cave where you can swim with the bats*. Back to the raft houses to relax before your evening meal. After your meal a short night safari to observe the natural night life of the rainforest. Overnight in your raft house.
Day 21 (B)
An early morning wake-up call for a canoe trip to look at the local wildlife. Coffee and tea will be served on the canoe. Back to the raft houses for breakfast, then journey back by boat and private transfer by songthaew to Suratthani. You can look back to an unforgettable trip! From Surathani you go by ferry to the tropical island of Koh Samui.
Day 21-26 (B)
Beach at Koh Samui.
Day 26 Today we transfer you to the airport where you take the flight to Bangkok. This is where your tour ends.

If you do not want to stay overnight at the Jungle Rafts (Day 4 and 5) you can stay in the nearby Resotel where rooms have airconditioning and there is a swimming pool. Extra charge for this is 20 euro per person)
If you do not want to take the nightbus on Day 15 you can instead fly to Bangkok where we pick you up from the airport and bring you by private transport to your beach destination where you will stay an extra night. Extra costs for this option is 75 euro per person.
