Khao Yai and Angkor Culture

Day 1
We drive to the Khao Yai National Park, the biggest in Thailand with a lot of wildlife, a.o. tigers and elephants. We do a nature walk through a fantastic, scenic area which will give you a marvellous impression of the jungles natural vegetation and wildlife. We will take lunch at the watch tower in an open area. The next point is the Haew Suwat, one of the largest waterfalls in the Khao Yai National Park. If you like, you can swim in the natural pool below the waterfall, or just relax in this beautiful oasis. Here parts of the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo di Caprio have been filmed and visit the water fall where the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo di Caprio has been filmed. Now we are on the way to Khao Kiaw viewpoint, the highest point of the park which is 1188 m above sea level. Here we will watch the most beautiful sunset across Khao Yai. After Khao Kiaw we will drive to the Bat Cave to see more than 1 million Bats flying out to hunt insects during the night. This swarm of Bats continues for more than half an hour and is a magnificent sight. We spend the night in a lodge at the park.

Day 2
We drive to the heart of the north east, a seldom visited but very interesting area. Here it looks if time stood still. In the small towns of Dan Kwian and Pak Tong Chai we visit a few factories where people still use their skills to make handmade products.We will have a traditional lunch at a 500 year old holy tree which is as big as a whole forest. Overnight in our hotel in Phimai where we visit the beautiful Khmer ruins that were built in the same style as Angkor Wat in Cambodia, this area once belonged to the same country. Then to Khorat where we will spend the night in a nice hotel in the city

Day 3
We drive to Lopburi with its famous temples inhabited by monkeys. Then on to Ayutthaya where we will visit the ruins of this old capital. At the end of the day we will be back in Bangkok where your tour ends. Note: You can continue with the Bangkok-Chiang Mai package or take the night train from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai. Another option will be the Tree Tops package or Beach Holiday
